Turtles In The Dezzy! Limited release. Only 10 made. Original art hand drawn by our very own Rainwater. Embroidered one at a time at our local studio in California. Hand cut & trimmed. 8+ hours to make each patch. Each patch features 350,000+ layered stitches with tons of crisp detail. Extra large size. Diameter is 9-inches. Sew on. Our aim with each piece is to push back on traditional limits of embroidery to ring out more & more detail.
This one’s for our fellow Terrapin Suite lovers…we call this art Turtle Skeletons In The Dezzy. Tying our love of rare & different textiles and fabric embroidery with our neverending love for Lady With A Fan and the entire Terrapin Suite, Rainwater & I found ourselves in a deep collaborative creative moment. Rainwater intensively studied the anatomical bone structure of turtles, putting together a true view of what skeleton Terrapin Turtles would actually look like. Then we needed the perfect environment for our skeleton turtles to play, so I jumped in bringing the Wovenfree perspective fueled by my love of patterns, textiles & mosaics. A pure reflection of our hearts & visions, we’re excited to share this piece with you! -Randy
